Weiner-Holder: That’s the Ticket?

Why not?

Democrats do not seem to have problems keeping sleezebags in office.  Even after his “selfie” sexting with a minor scandal cause former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY 9th) to give up his seat in Congress, Weiner has still made a comeback as a leading New York City mayoral candidate.  And with the revelation of one of Weiner’s sexting pseudonyms “Carlos Danger”, he’s made forays into pandering to Hispanics

Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder has managed to hold on despite state sponsored gun running with Mexicans, not enforcing the law with DOMA, pursuing the Fort Hood Terrorism case as “workplace violence” or completing the Philadelphia Black Panther voter intimidation case. Of course A.G. Holder’s legacy includes extensively spying on the press, just in case the lap dog lamestream media doesn’t play ball.

It would make for a fast and furious campaign. In addition, it would show how Democrats would try to hold onto power no matter who’s fronting the ticket.

  1. Republicans don’t have a problem reelecting adulterers either. Mark Sanford was elected to Congress despite his mistress from Argentina; and Newt Gingrich won the South Carolina Primary right after his ex-wife went on TV to talk about his infidelity. It’s just the Democrat’s problem and it’s not just the GOP’s either.

    • @internetact12 The issue is not adultery. It is persistent predatory cyber kinks which betray both the public trust and his marriage vow. Weiner resigned from the Congressional seat only after being pressured for taking naked selfies sent to an under aged interlocultor thru Twitter. Weiner resigned and said that he’d get treatment with wife Huma standing by his side. By the way, Weiner took these kinky photos at his Capitol Hill office.

Two years later, it is revealed that Weiner had another cyber affair sharing indecent material (his characterization) which he apologized to those who received it. This was after he supposedly received sex therapy treatment and as the New York Times wrote a glowing piece about how Weiner turned around his life.

Weiner is up for election as the mayor of America’s largest city, with over 8 million residents and a slew of city workers. Do they really want Carlos Danger exposing Gotham to admittedly out of control behavior which has been conducted at the office. Alas Carlos Danger showed his tools for action.

If you want to compare apples to apples, consider how Republican leadership took care of ex Rep. Mike Lee (R-NY 26th) within hours of his Craigslist indiscretions being revealed. http://goo.gl/737QYm

But New Yorkers may not care about returning sleezy pols back to office. Disgraced ex Gov. Elliot Spitzer (D-NY) who payed for prostitutes while traveling on the public dime in the District of Calamity (sic), now he’s running for Comptroller of New York.

  2. You are overgeneralizing here. What you are basically saying is that just because one Republican packed up and left the Capitol when somebody discovered that he was sending inappropriate photos automatically makes all Republicans more ethical then all Democrats. Anthony Weiner did some bad things. But what he did was not limited to Democrats.

The New York Times, by the way, has since criticized Weiner’s conduct: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/24/opinion/mr-weiner-and-the-elusive-truth.html?hp

  3. @internetact12 IMNTBHO, you are overgeneralizing. Your Sandford & Gingrich comparisons were negated by how GOP leadership acted re: Chris Lee. That does not make them more ethical per se on everything but this shows that Congressional Republicans do not tolerate sleezy sex deviant scumbags on Capitol Hill.

Democrats have a recent history of tolerating pols who violate the public trust satisfying their kinky ways (e.g. B.J. Clinton, McGreevy, and tolerating Weiner until it became untenable).

Good for the New York Slimes. They printed the 8000 word puff piece which rehabilitated Weiner. Now that his shortcomings have been exposed, they want Weiner to pull out. It is no longer the newspaper of record. But if the Old Grey Lady has given liberals their marching orders then lean forward (sic).

    • What you’re saying here is that the way the GOP acted regarded Newt Gingrich or Mark Sanford does not matter in this case because of how they acted when Chris Lee’s scandal surfaced. If the GOP does not tolerate sleezy sex deviant scumbags on Capitol Hill, why does Mark Sanford have his job?

As for the NYT, changing your opinion due to new evidence regarding why something is good/bad is a scientific practice. It’s better they admitted that they’re wrong than continued to maintain their credibility and it was nothing compared to changing your opinion because Political Enemy Number 1 suddenly agrees with you.

  4. @Internetact12 Whether it is making passes at Congressional pages, having cigar liasons (and making sex tapes) with subordinate interns or Twittering your junk, those are deviant pathological behaviors that merit the sleezy sex deviant scumbag moniker (sic). While I may not care for the practice, Mark Sanford dumping his wife could claim adultery, for your alliterative condemnation is an overstepping equivocation.

Don’t think that the Slimes was scientifiic. Weiner was not subtle about his practices throughout, but they still published the 8,000 word puff piece to relaunch Carlos Danger’s political career last fall. I haven’t agreed with the Old Grey Lady nor do I read it, but it would be news to me that they admitted that they were wrong even though I appreciate that they would like to push Weiner off the stage.
